Young people today are growing up in a world unlike that experienced by any generation that has come before. Surrounded by touch screen devices, social media, and wifi, young people today often learn how to play with their parent's phone before they learn how to form full sentences.
 
Because of this increase in exposure to technology, and the constant connectivity, research shows that this generation thinks quite differently from any other generation that has come before.
 
Generation Z, dubbed the 'Digital Natives' are those born between 1995 - 2010 and are those just getting started in high school, to those just getting started in the workforce.
 
As well as growing up in a world that is very different to that experienced by any other generation, our Digital Natives are also expected to be entering a workforce that is transforming at a rapid rate.
 
To help prepare our young people for this ever-changing future of work, education and industry leaders around the world have identified a set of key 21st century skills.
 
Whilst called different names depending on who you talk to, these skills centre around entrepreneurship, innovation, and STEM, and research shows that by developing these skills, young people will be prepared to not just survive, but to thrive in the workforce of the future.
